The most wonderful time of the year is nearly here, and I know it might seem a little early to talk about Christmas, but trust me, this is exactly when you should start. Getting organised early means no panic, no queues, and no last-minute stress.

I know we are still very much in the cold, grey part of the year, but I always like to think a little ahead when it comes to fashion. At this stage, I’m usually feeling a bit tired of dark colours and rotating the same two coats as the centre of all my outfits.

So let’s jump ahead of ourselves and brighten up these winter days by looking at some 2026 fashion trends focusing on styles that busy, everyday women can actually wear.

As I always like to highlight, this is very much for fun and inspiration.
Do I follow every fashion trend? No.
Do I buy into every trend I see on the runway? Definitely not.

But do I like to know what’s in and what’s out? Yes.

I have colours, prints, and styles that I love wearing, and no matter what’s trending, I still choose them. That’s the difference between being fashionable and being stylish. Fashion changes constantly, while personal style doesn’t always follow and that never takes away from being stylish.

That said, it’s helpful to know what trends are coming. Sometimes it means a shade or silhouette you love one that hasn’t been around for years suddenly becomes much easier to find in the shops.

So let’s look at the wearable 2026 trends you’ll be seeing more of.

Slimmer-Leg Jeans Are Returning

Let’s start with jeans always a love-or-hate topic.

Wide-leg jeans have dominated fashion trends for several years now, and while I personally love them, as a stylist I’ve seen many women struggle with them. Different body shapes, heights, and lifestyles mean the wide leg simply didn’t work for everyone.

For a while, there was also a shortage of skinny or slim-leg jeans, leaving many women feeling forgotten and honestly, a bit untrendy.

The good news? Slimmer-leg jeans are making a comeback for 2026. We’re not fully returning to ultra-skinny styles, but the more tailored, slim-leg shape is definitely back. This will be such a relief for women who struggled with extremely wide silhouettes.

If finding the right jeans has felt difficult lately, keep an eye out more wearable, forgiving styles are on the way.

Oversized Tote Bags for Real Life

Another practical 2026 fashion trend is the return of the oversized tote bag.

We’re moving away from stiff, structured, medium-sized handbags and embracing soft, oversized totes the kind you can comfortably wear under your arm.

I love this trend. As a busy woman, I want a bag that fits everything I need for the day and still looks stylish. Practical fashion that works for everyday life is always a win.

Expect to see plenty of beautiful suede tote bags appearing in shops over the coming months.

Brighter Colours Are Back for 2026

One of the biggest shifts in 2026 colour trends is a move away from muted tones.

Over the past few years, fashion has leaned heavily into deep, soft shades like burgundy, forest green, and muted neutrals. For 2026, we’re seeing brighter, more saturated colours return very reminiscent of early 2000s fashion.

Think forest green evolving into lime green, and burgundy giving way to chili red.

While I still love muted colours, spring has always felt like a time of renewal to me. Clothes following that energy feels right. After hearing so many people say recent spring collections felt boring and overly neutral, this colour shift might be exactly what we needed.

Green is shifting from deep forest tones to brighter, more saturated shades like emerald and lime for 2026.

Florals Make a Return

Prints are always a personal preference. I tend to lean towards animal prints, which never really disappear we just change which animal is trending each year.

Florals, however, are returning as part of 2026 fashion trends. I’ll admit I’m cautious. Some floral prints can feel overly seasonal and don’t age well, but when done right, they can be timeless and beautiful.

If you’re someone who loves prints, this might be a very exciting season for you.

The Timeless Return of Black and White

There’s one trend that almost feels wrong to call a trend black and white.

This iconic colour combination has had major moments throughout fashion history, particularly in the 1920s, 1960s, and 1980s. And now, it’s finding its place again in 2026.

The look feels elegant, timeless, and very Chanel-inspired. It almost feels as though, after the years following COVID, fashion is slowly returning to a more refined sense of elegance something many of us have been craving.

How to Wear 2026 Trends in Real Life

One thing I always think about when looking at fashion trends is how they actually translate into real life. Runway looks can be inspiring, but most of us need outfits that work for busy mornings, workdays, school runs, and everything in between.

The good news with the 2026 trends is that many of them are very easy to implement in small ways. You don’t need a full wardrobe refresh. A brighter bag, a pop of colour in a knit, or a change in denim shape can instantly update your look without feeling overwhelming.

Trends like slimmer-leg jeans and oversized tote bags are especially practical, while brighter colours can be introduced slowly through accessories if you’re more comfortable staying neutral. Fashion should feel fun, wearable, and supportive of your lifestyle not stressful or restrictive.

Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference.

Final Thoughts on 2026 Fashion Trends

These are the key 2026 fashion trends for everyday women that I’m seeing right now. I’m sure more will emerge, but this feels like an accurate reflection of what’s happening in fashion and what we’ll realistically see in shops.

I’d love to know: how do you feel about the fashion trends for 2026?
Are there any you’re excited to try or any you’ll happily skip?

As always, wear what makes you feel good. Trends come and go, but personal style is always yours.
